Michael Jackson va fi omagiat la gala Video Music Awards ce va fi transmisa in direct de MTV in noaptea dintre 13 si 14 septembrie.
Janet Jackson isi va omagia fratele printr-un moment artistic in cadrul galei Video Music Awards 2009, ce va avea loc in New York la Radio City Music Hall.
MTV a realizat un spot emotionant pentru a promova tributul, in care Janet Jackson nu este protagonista, ceea ce poate inseamna ca aceasta nu este singura artista care il va omagia pe Michael la VMA 2009.
Printre cei care vor canta live pe scena din New York sunt si Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Pink, Green Day si Muse.
